Shanghai: The eastern Chinese port of Ningbo has increased port handling capacity with the opening of new berths in Meishan port area and Beilun port area.

The Meishan port area, including five container berths, and the number 2 container berth of the fourth phase of Beilun container terminal, were officially opened.

Meishan port area is planning to build fifteen 70,000-100,000 tons-class container berths and sixteen 10,000-30,000 tons-class container berths. There have been five berths built so far.

Ningbo Beilun container terminal is a joint venture terminal invested in by Ningbo Port Group and Hutchison Ports. [18/12/14]
